Hello Girls!
After a full long day of hard work, I often feel strain in my eyes. Eye fatigue is an annoying condition caused by extended periods of reading, writing and driving. It is also caused by staring at computer screens, smartphones and video games. This type of eye strain is known as computer vision syndrome. It is responsible for up to 10 million eye examinations every year.
Symptoms include
- sore or irritated eyes
- blurred vision
- dry or watery eyes
- pain in the neck, shoulders or back
Prevention of Eye Fatigue
Organizations such as Prevent Blindness, Get Eye Smart and the National Eye Institute believes eye strain can be prevented by making changes to one's computer screen and work habits. Computer users should place the screen 20-26 inches away from their eyes. According to the 20-20-20 rule, one should take a break from their computer work. After every 20 minutes, they should look away about 20 feet in front of them for 20 seconds.
Take Care of Your Eyes
The aforementioned tips should help wipe away your eye fatigue. If the problem doesn't diminish, then consider using the Aqua Eye Mask by Body Shop. I found it to be very effective! The soothing eye mask refreshes my eyes far better than artificial tears would have.
Cosmopolitan UK advises users to massage their eyes. All you need is a soothing eye gel and your finger tips. Check the video below to see how it is done!
