Take it Up a Notch with Bridal Mehndi Designs!

Hey!

Have a big, fat Asian wedding coming up? One thing that every girl looks forward to is having beautiful henna patterns applied to their hands or feet. Mehndi designs typically end at the wrist or extend a little beyond that. Although, most people prefer simpler designs, others may want to go all out and heavy with bridal mehndi designs. Bridal mehndi designs are applied up till our elbows and feature highly intricate designs.

Bridal mehndi designs aren't limited to South Asian brides as commonly thought. There are many women these days that like the heavier detail. For someone that is currently learning simple henna patterns, a bridal mehndi class may seem overwhelming. You'll be required to complete two full arms and feet. Not only will it take more time, it will also require more effort as bridal mehndi designs are very intrinsic. From my experience, you should postpone bridal mehndi classes until you've mastered simple henna patterns. If you are up for a challenge, you can take the class as a novice but you are more likely to become overwhelmed as completing bridal mehndi designs is a time-consuming process.

Traditional Bridal Mehndi Design

Unlike simple mehndi classes, bridal mehndi class is shorter in duration and teach a variety of designs including traditional mehndi, red and black mehndi, glitter mehndi and stone mehndi. Everyone has their favorite style but I personally like red and black mehndi. Black mehndi is used as an outline and red mehndi is used as filling. Unfortunately, the quality of red henna isn't very good and has been known to cause skin burns. Hence, red henna isn't easily available in stores but there are a few vendors that produce and sell henna that is actually safe. Unless you know a safe source, don't just purchase an red henna that you come across.

Red and Black Mehndi With Stone Mehndi

Glitter Mehndi
Glitter mehndi is also very beautiful and can be done in almost any color. Traditional brown mehndi is applied first as an outline. Once completely dried, wash your hands and then apply the glitter coloring as a filling. With stone mehndi, you can purchase embellishments and glue them onto mehndi designs or you can purchase a pack of stone stickers and apply them. Although, stone stickers does the job, they aren't long-lasting.

What bridal mehndi design is your type?
