Dry Shampoo: Should You Try It?

Hey!

With hair that becomes greasy at the end of the day, I often worry what I will do in case I face a hair emergency. Emergencies can happen to just about anyone. You can have guests come over unannounced. You can also meet someone on a short notice to take care of a personal matter. The last thing you want to do is look untidy. If you don't have the time to get your hair washed, you can whip out a dry shampoo.

Dry shampoos are especially recommended by hair stylists because washing frequently can strip follicles from natural oils and leave your locks dry and damaged. Dry shampoos is a great to alternative to traditional cleansing shampoos. In existence since the 1970s, dry shampoos are available in both powder and spray forms.

What is it?
A dry shampoo is an easy way to cleanse your hairs without wetting them. It's an ideal solution for busy-bees or anyone that doesn't cautiously avoids washing their hair from a hair-health standpoint. Power dry shampoos or aerosol-based ones work in a similar manner as they absorb excess oil and leave hairs cleaner and fresher.

What to Buy?
  • Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Dry Shampoo
  • Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder
  • Oscar Blandi Invisible Dry Shampoo Spray
  • Dove's Refresh + Care Invigorating Dry Shampoo
  • blowPro's Faux Dry Shampoo
  • Klorane's Gental Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk

There are many other options available that have a pleasant scent and low-priced. These products have been given great reviews by consumers and offer fantastic results. I'm currently using Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Dry Shampoo. I'm using a 1.6 oz travel-sized dry shampoo. It's aerosol-based and instantly absorbs grease. I spray my dry shampoo at least six inches from the roots. Celebrity hairstylist Larry Sims says doing so "will lightly and evenly distribute the product without creating buildup." After I've sprayed it on, I brush out my hair and within minutes, the greasiness is completely gone. If you're interested in using a powder dry shampoo, then divide your hair into sections and apply a cinch of powder onto your scalp. Rub it in, brush out the excess and get on with your life! Another benefit of dry shampoo is that it adds texture and volume to your hair.
